AIの話をしようと思う。塾のブログでAIなんて、誰も聞きたくないかもしれない。だけど心配しないでほしい。難しい数式や専門用語はここには出てこない。私自身、そういうものを見るとちょっとめまいがするタイプだ。
AI、つまり人工知能というのは、どうにも抽象的で、つかみどころがない。なんだかSF映画のような、光るパネルの前で無表情なロボットが世界を支配している風景を思い浮かべる人もいるかもしれない。でも現実のAIはそんな派手なやつじゃない。たとえばスマホが勝手に写真を仕分けしてくれたり、YouTubeで「きっとこれ好きでしょ」なんて言って動画を勧めてくる。あれもAIだ。
つまり私たちは、知らないうちにAIと肩を並べて暮らしている。駅までの最短ルートを教えてくれたり、英単語の意味をさっと調べてくれたり。文句ひとつ言わず、働き続けてくれる。なんだか、静かな友人みたいな存在だ。
これからの時代、AIはもっと私たちのそばにやってくる。勉強のやり方を教えてくれたり、苦手な分野を分析してアドバイスしてくれるようになるかもしれない。先生とAIが、タッグを組んで生徒を支える。そんな風景だって、そう遠くはない。
もちろん、万能じゃない。AIはまだ、心を持たないし、誰かを本当に励ますことはできない。でも、正直なところ、何かを知ろうとする人のそばに、静かに寄り添う力は持っていると思う。
「AIって、よくわからないけど、ちょっと面白そうかも」
そんなふうに思ってもらえたら、それだけで嬉しい。未来は、たいていそんなふうにして、そっとやってくるものだから。
きっと大学入学共通テストの「情報」も、肩の力を抜いて取り組めば大丈夫だ。君が今やっていることは、ちゃんと明日に続いている。AIも、勉強も、人生も、案外そんなふうにできているのだと思う。

I thought I’d talk a little about AI.
I know—it might sound strange to bring up artificial intelligence on a cram school blog. Maybe no one really wants to hear about it. But don’t worry. There won’t be any complicated formulas or technical jargon here. I’m the type of person who gets a bit dizzy just looking at that kind of thing.
AI—artificial intelligence—is, in many ways, vague and hard to grasp. You might picture something out of a sci-fi movie: expressionless robots, glowing panels, a future ruled by machines. But the AI in our everyday lives is far more modest than that.
Like when your phone organizes your photos without asking, or when YouTube says, “You might like this,” and it’s somehow right. That’s AI too.
In other words, we’re already living side by side with AI—without really noticing. It shows us the fastest route to the station, helps us look up English words, and keeps working without a single complaint.

At our school, we’ve been exploring AI for the past two years now.
From here on out, AI will be even closer. It might help us figure out better ways to study, analyze where we struggle, offer gentle advice. Students and teachers might one day work hand-in-hand with AI. That’s not such a far-off scene anymore.
Of course, AI isn’t perfect. It doesn’t have a heart, and it can’t truly cheer someone up. But even so, I believe it can sit quietly beside someone who’s trying to learn something. And sometimes, that’s more than enough.
